New Years Resolutions

I've heard that New Years Day is for celebrating and then the second of January is when you either make or start your resolutions. Usually I start thinking about my resolutions sometime in December otherwise I'll forget to even make them. Here are my resolutions for 2016:

Be Healthier, happier, and more patient

When I say be healthier I mean he more aware of what I'm putting into my body. I plan to eat less processed food and more organic food when I can Fit it into my grocery budget. I am very interested in Weston A Price food guidelines and clean eating so I plan to follow those plans more closely. I also plan to watch what I put on my body as well so I've started making small changes such as using primal pit paste instead of conventional deodorant and so on. I also plan on working out to get in better shape but also to look good come bikini season ( I'm so vain I know). I'm also going to put just a tad more effort into my look (so I'll wear mascara everyday instead of just sometimes haha) not just for myself but for my husband as well. Just because we're married doesn't mean I can't still get dolled up for him every now and then but also when I look pretty I feel pretty. I'm not talking a full face of makeup I'll just stick with mascara maybe some eye-shadow and some tinted lip balm for makeup, toss on something beside a t-shirt and tada! That's me dolled up haha.

I also am going to try very hard  to not sweat the small stuff or let stress or worry ruin the present for me. I am a huge grudge holder so I am letting go of most past hurts so that I can open my heart for more happiness!

I'm am a super impatient person so much that it's starting to drive me crazy! With two kids I could really be more patient. Its only day 1 of the new year but it's going good so far. I don't yell at my three year old when she whines because she doesn't want to go to bed I calmly but firmly tell her it's bed time and if she doesn't stop whining we'll have to close her door because I don't want to hear her whining. Is it harsh? I don't think so it sure beats yelling at her when my patience runs out. It's not perfect but there's always room for improvement.

I'm sure I won't stick to these perfectly but hey a girls gotta start somewhere. The more I try the more I'll stick to them.

What are your New Year resolutions?

Let's Get This Party Started!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Hello everyone. I'd like to welcome you to my little slice of the world. My name is Aspen. I thought I'd start a blog to document my families journey at this point in our lives. Why? well because there are some things that I am learning that I'd like to share, and come on who doesn't have a blog now days.  Hey if anything, the kids can always come here for a trip down memory lane. Anywho my blog will be a mish-mash of things I'm interested in, which is currently budgeting, 'trying' to be healthy, and just what's going on in my life. Feel free to follow along.
